EVEREST is the system that FIC offers to its customers for the production of freezing water at +1°C with ice accumulation ; this system is particularly suitable when the consumption of ice water is less than 10-12 hours per day, or when there is a need to meet a demand for use concentrated in a few hours.
EVEREST consists of a perfectly insulated tank with openable and insulated lids, with packs of PED 2014/68/EU certified coils inside . Both the tank and the coils can be made of galvanized steel or stainless steel.
The tank is filled with mains water and the exchanger is fed with a refrigerant fluid ( Freon, ammonia, glycol, Co2 ). In predetermined times, ice sleeves form along the serpentines up to specific thicknesses controlled by special ice switches. Following the accumulation of ice, a flow of water is continuously fed into the tank which, upon contact with the ice, is cooled to the equilibrium temperature (+1°C) and then sent to the users.
The dissolution efficiency is guaranteed by a special agitation system consisting of a blower and an air distribution system which allows for particularly rapid dissolution times.
The system can be supplied with or without a refrigeration unit. The storage capacity varies from 38,000 kcal up to over 2,000,000 kcal . Typical fields of application for EVEREST are the dairy, food, beer, meat and fish, fruit and vegetable industries.
Everest is particularly suitable for:
